Word counter and keyword density checker

Paste your text to see word count, reading time, the phrases you use most, and how often your target keyword appears.

Is there an ideal keyword density?

No. Google doesn't use a target density, and repeating a keyword over and over reads badly and can look like keyword stuffing. Use this tool to spot overuse and to check that your main topic and related terms actually appear.

What good content does instead

  1. Answers the search fully, including the follow-up questions people ask.
  2. Uses related terms naturally: synonyms, product names, places and specifics.
  3. Puts the main topic in the title, H1 and first paragraph, where it matters most.
  4. Reads well aloud. If a sentence sounds forced, rewrite it.

How the counts work

Words are counted in any language, including Arabic. The phrase table skips common words like "the" and "and", and only shows phrases used more than once. Density is the share of all words taken up by that phrase.

Questions people ask

What keyword density is too high?

There's no official number, but if a phrase takes up more than about 3% of the words, it usually reads as forced.

Is my text stored?

No. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.

How is reading time calculated?

At about 230 words per minute, a typical adult reading speed.
